In terms of appearance, the front face of the new car is equipped with a wide inverted trapezoidal air intake grille, which is filled with a blackened middle net. The frame is embellished with semi-wrapped thick chrome-plated strips, and the left and right sides are inlaid with exquisite and small headlight sets. The front surrounding area is a standard three-stage auxiliary air inlet, including a double-layer trapezoidal lower grille and a fogged light area filled with a blackened middle net. The bottom also has an additional black front lip, which further enhances the aura and sporty feeling of the front of the car.

The side of the body is a wide and slender SUV shape. The A-pillar has a large angle of inclination, and the connection with the roof is smooth and natural. Finally, the D-pillar is arched into the trunk, which generally has a good design sense. The short front overhang and long front of the car make the visual center of gravity of the whole car shift back, and the smooth waist line, window line, large-sized wheels and other details strengthen the slender and atmospheric feeling.

In the rear part of the car, the tilted rear windshield makes the whole trunk have a protruding feeling, coupled with the large size spoiler on the roof, which enhances the three-dimensional feel of the rear. The taillight group has a strong Mazda style, and the curved hook-shaped light source is matched with the blackened lampshade, which has a good recognition whether it is lit or not. The only pity is that there is no exposed bilateral exhaust in the rear surround, which weakens the sporty temperament to a certain extent.

The interior part is an obvious family design, similar to the layout of the domestic CX-5, equipped with a long rectangular floating central control screen and a blocked LCD instrument panel, the three-spoke steering wheel has a wealth of functional buttons, and the sub-instrument panel also retains a large number of buttons.

In terms of power, there are two options: a 3.3T inline-six engine with a light hybrid system, and a 2.5L plug-in hybrid system with an 8AT transmission, which is the same as the CX-90’s power configuration and offers excellent fuel economy.

From the perspective of market positioning, the car is benchmarked against the BMW X5 in overseas regions. You heard right, whether it is size, power, or luxury tone, it is benchmarked against the BMW X5 in all aspects. However, if the car can be introduced into domestic sales, with Mazda’s brand premium ability in the domestic market, the main competitors are Toyota Highlander, Volkswagen Tiguan L and other models.
